Jess
Jessica Qinyue Luo
Jessica is a female director and producer, deeply rooted in the intricate tapestries of her Chinese heritage. Her cinematic endeavors glow with this cultural richness, crafting narratives brimming with depth and nuance. After earning her BA in Film Production from Penn State University, Jessica is now advancing her storytelling artistry as she pursues her MFA at Loyola Marymount University's esteemed School of TV & Film.

Her gift for storytelling is molded by deep introspections, especially her personal confrontations with intense fears and vulnerabilities. This emotional resonance is beautifully manifested in her award-winning shorts, "In the Spotlight" (2022) and “Muted” (2023). A foray into the bustling commercial scene in 2021 only broadened Jessica's narrative perspective, adding another layer to her already multifaceted cinematic approach.

While her directorial ventures captivate, the films she's produced illuminate her versatility, earning acclaim at prestigious film festivals. Standouts like “Upstream” (2023) and “Flatulence: The Origin” (2023) were celebrated selections at the Academy-Award-Qualifying LA Shorts Film Festival (2023), and “One Afternoon” (2021) were the semi-finalist at the Student Academy Awards (2021). With a feminist torch lighting her way, Jessica consistently crafts tales that champion gender equity and complex character development.
